Arkansas Ignition Interlock Laws

arkansas interlock

Arkansas has a strict policy against drunk drivers within the state, with the mandatory installation of an ignition interlock device required for first-time DWI offenders. While the immediate installation of an IID for a first offense may be enough of a consequence to deter subsequent DWI violations, the State of Arkansas has an even stricter policy for re-offenders.  On any second or third conviction, an offender may only begin to drive with the IID once he or she has completed a 45-day license suspension period.
