First Time DUI Offenders
Across the country, ignition interlock laws are being reviewed and changed, eliminating the choice to drink and drive for many convicted offenders. These changes in the laws and consequences for driving under the influence of alcohol are important, especially when it comes to keeping our roads and families safe from danger.
Public support for mandatory ignition interlock installations is high. Several surveys have been conducted, with each showing a high rate of support in keeping drunk drivers off the road – whether the person has been convicted one time or several. Over three out of four people support the mandatory installation of an ignition interlock device for first-time offenders.
