The New York Highway Safety Symposium

New York Highway Safety SymposiumWith over 350 professionals in attendance from agencies across New York State, the New York Highway Safety Symposium is must-visit for those who wish to exchange information and promote current and new injury prevention programs. This year, the Symposium will be held in Liverpool, New York from October 20th to 22nd, 2013.

The New York Highway Safety Symposium is co-sponsored and organized by three major organizations – the New York State STOP-DWI Association, New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, and the New York State Association of Traffic Safety Boards. As well, major event participants include partners in safety such as the New York State Department of Health, New York State Drinking Driver Program Directors, New York State Department of Transportation, NHTSA, and Safe Kids amongst others.

Courses covered during the Symposium will include “Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement Training for Police Officers” and “Creativity: Thinking outside of the box.”  Presentations will include “Hey, that was no accident,” a discussion regarding DWI crashes and involvement of both offender and law enforcement, as well as “STOP-DWI Best Practices.”
