Your Hump-Day Recess: Woman Decides She Shouldn’t Be Driving, Lets Car Drive Itself Away

You’ve probably heard that the self-driving car isn’t ready yet. This woman’s 2010 Hyundai Sonata wasn’t even close. The woman apparently decided she wasn’t in good enough shape to drive – as would any observer of her driving – so she exited the car posthaste. That might have been a good move, but she neglected to pull over to the side of the road or even put it in “Park.” As a result, well, take a look:

By some miracle, no one was hurt in this totally bizarre mishap. The CHP arrested her for DUI, but released for lack of evidence. From our perspective, her driving before the exit looked pretty impaired. But ours is not to question the Los Angeles County Court system. We’ll chalk this up to an early, unsuccessful attempt at a driverless car technology.
