When can I get my IID installed?

In Oregon, if you fail or refuse a breath test, your license will be suspended immediately and a 10-day temporary permit issued. If you are convicted of a DUII, your driver’s license will be suspended. For the first offense, this suspension is 30 days.

After 30 days, if it is your first offense, you can apply to have an IID installed and regain the privilege to drive. Second and subsequent offenses carry longer suspensions and an IID is required.

Along with the IID, you will be required to have an alcohol screening interview and a treatment program will be required. You may have to attend a victim impact treatment session as well. The Oregon DMV has all the details.
